Tiger Talks 2025 - Let’s Make Neighborhoods Great Again
Sponsored by Meteva Eiendom AS and our Founder, Louise Mohn, the Centrum Tigers hosts one of the most significant gatherings on diversity, inclusion, and integration—Tiger Talks 2025. Held at Vulkan Arena, Oslo, Norway, this annual conference brings together influential voices from politics, sports, and business, all committed to advancing equality in our communities.
Centrum Tigers, includes over 500 active basketball players from more than 50 nationalities - most under the age of 19 - in the very heart of Vulkan area in Oslo. Centrum Tigers have created an environment where youth from all walks of life come together with shared purpose and passion. In their words, “we dare to say we’ve cracked the diversity code.” For Meteva Sport og Helse’s Founder, Louise Mohn, this aligns perfectly with her social responsibility programs and values. Hence her presence there today as the sponsor of the event through Meteva Eiendom AS, the social responsibility is closest to her heart.
One of her initiatives, the NextGen Neighbor Network, believes that coordinated local ecosystems - where schools, sports clubs, families, businesses and volunteers SHOW UP together simultaneously - to identify and support good behavior, as well as addressing at-risk youth. It’s a three-step model: address, report, and repair simultaneously to reduce repercussions for the children and youth.
“Diversity, sports, unity and fellowship should go hand in hand and be a catalyst for change for the next generation. If only society could value people based on their own personal social skills, rather than their parents' background, we would see a great difference in how people emotionally regulate themselves” says Louise Mohn, Founder of Meteva Sport og Helse AS.
“We are so proud to shine a spotlight on Tiger Talks. Events like these sharpens awareness and inspire dialogue - they ignite action. The conversations taking place today reflect the same values at the heart of the NextGen Neighbor Network (NNN): that everyone - no matter their background, age, or experience - deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued in a community they feel a sense of belonging, unity and fellowship” says Bouna Black Ndiaye, Co-founder of NextGen Neighbor Network
Meteva Sport og Helse and NextGen Neighbor Network believe these kinds of stories matter deeply. Regardless of where you come from or what your background is, everyone deserves the opportunity to feel included and stay active - especially through sports.
“Let’s Make Neighborhoods Great Again” - Sunniva Gylver
With conquering prejudice, it is important we understand that prejudice often stems from the limits of our own experience - shaped by the environments we grow up in and the narratives we’ve been taught to believe. To move forward, we must become more conscious of the world beyond our own perspective. Whatever energy sits at the forefront of our learned experience - be it fear, pride, or assumption - it can be transformed when one begins to listen and understand stories that are not our own. NextGen Neighbor Network’s framework is meant to highlight people's social competence, the way we behave to co-exist in the local community. Basketball in Norway is the epitome of diversity, equality and inclusion, providing strong social responsibility collaborations through its slogan: Basketball - more than a sport. We are building bridges between generations, cultures, and communities.
As we look beyond Norway’s borders and into broader international contexts, both Tiger Talks and the NextGen Neighbor Network initiative reminds us that the movement for inclusivity is a global matter. We believe it starts with awareness, consciousness, human connection and conversation.
